Kevin is NINE!

I can't believe I have a nine year old. This year Kevin has been reading the Harry Potter series and really really likes it! He asked to have a Harry Potter birthday party which turned out to be a pretty fun dinner party!!

Bryan and I put up this amazing black tulle so that it looked a little like the night sky. Then I made floating candles out of toilet paper rolls, dollar store battery operated tea lights and fishing line...(and lots of help from my glue gun) For take home gifts we had decorated goblets and wands and a bookmark with a couple spells to practice on them. I had spay painted some dollar store wine glasses earlier in the week to make the goblets look cool. I had lots of help with this party as well. I owe a big shout out to my friend Kathy who let me borrow nearly all of the amazing decor and the Harry Potter Books and also to my friend, Debbie, who made the Turkey and the gravy for the feast. My amazing mother in law delighted everyone with her mac and cheese. Of course Bryan is always my partner in crime at these parties. He is always there to say my crazy time consuming idea is a great one!!! ( and I love him for it) Kevin decided he didn't want cupcakes this year but opted for hot fudge pie, he has great taste! So here are some pics from Kevin's ninth birthday party!
