Isaac is THREE!

PIRATES PIRATES PIRATES!!!

Isaac wanted a pirate party this year and I was more than excited to oblige.  I had so much fun putting this party together on a tight budget.

We had a walk the plank activity!  I picked the plank up from a local lumbar yard.  They gave me it out of their scraps for free...yay!  I then covered the writing that was on it with some scrapbook paper that I mod podged to the top of it.

 I enlisted the help of the hubby on making swords for everyone and I made eye patches with elastic and duct tape and spy glasses with leftover Christmas wrapping paper tubes wrapped in paper and I used some of the duct tape on the bottom.  They turned out super fun!

I had a lot of fun with the food and the kiddos loved it!

 If it was too easy to walk they plank then you you had to do it while sword fighting Bryan!

We dug for treasure (chocolate coins) in the balls!

Isaac is so much fun opening presents because he is SO excited about each one!

I made Apple Butter! Yes, you read that right and I canned it!!!

SNOW!

 

A couple days after Christmas we took the boys to the snow.  This was Owen's first experience with snow and he was totally loving it.  We dressed him up nice and warm and we had no complaints from him.  It was super fun and we found  a great spot with some great hills and one really long hill.

 Kevin and Adam are at the very top of this pic... the little dot coming down the valley...it was a sweet ride! Bryan and Isaac just finished their turn at the bottom of the hill!

 
Isaac was not so excited about snow in the face...But he had fun anyway!

I do love taking this crew to the snow.  It is always fun.  I wish we could get out more and do it more regularly...maybe next year!

Christmas Card Pics

So this year we decided to go really inexpensive and we put the ol' canon on the tripod and tried to get everyone to smile!  We got one decent family pic out of about 50!  Owen threw up/spit up on Adam's back during the first family picture so Adam was quite a trooper to keep up good appearances!
