Carving pumpkins

They are some rad pumpkins! Kevin got to do some of his own cutting this year! They turned out great. Everyone designed their own, except Isaac got some help from Mommy!

Halloween

Get ready for picture overload! So this year we went to the trunk or treat at church and then went trick or treating on Halloween night with Mima and Poppa! So here goes the visuals!!

Isaac had a costume change, he arrived as a pirate and left as a dragon!

My Mom and Dad joined us at trunk-or-treat! I won second place in the Chili Cook Off!!!

Can you guess who we are?

Here are some of our friends

The Manghams!

The Davis'

The Taneilus. I'm not kidding they have a 2 week old in that stroller!

Here is our car!!

So that was the trunk or treat this year, yes I should have gotten better costume pics but that will be a lesson learned for next year!

Halloween Day!

On Halloween day we decided to take advantage of some free or cheap treats around town. We headed to Sonic for 50 cent corndogs then on to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for a free doughnut if you were in costume. Here are those pics!

Swamp Monster and Ninja!!

Even little Owen got in on the fun!

They love watching the doughnuts be made!

Then we headed to Mima and Poppa's for some pizza and trick-or-treating!

And we ended our adventure back with Mima and Poppa who of course gave them as much candy as they could possibly handle! They had a blast this year and of course are already putting in requests on what they would like to be next year!

A baby blessing

Last month we went up to Chatsworth for a baby blessing. Little Alice Gray was blessed by her Daddy. We love the Grays!

Dads with babies unite! Now that is hot, right?

Look at these handsome men in the making!

I love everyone in this picture! It is amazing how as an adult your family grows to include dear friends.

Mama's Birthday!

So this year my birthday fell on a Wednesday. My birthdays have gotten the boot a little bit since the weekend before my birthday is Adam's birthday and the weekend after my birthday is General Conference . That aside, Bryan tries to make it special! This year he bought dinner , Subway, and dessert, Marie Calendar's lemon meringue pie and took us all to the beach for a bonfire! It was super windy and cold but we had fun anyway!! I also scored some theater tickets to 3 shows this year. I am so excited!

Adam turns 5

Adam's birthday fell on a Friday this year that happened to be daddy's RDO (regular day off)! So I took Adam on a date! We went out for Phó and then picked up our free ice cream scoops at Baskin Robbins since we both had our birthday coupons! We had a lot of fun and Adam got a special day where he got to have soup, which none of the other boys appreciate.

Adam's party was the next day. We envited our new friends from school, the Zapatas and our friends from birth the Cookes! This meant there would be 10 kiddos including Owen and Marin, which turned into 12 with the neighbor boys! We decided on a pool party which was perfect since it was 95 degrees out!

Some neighbor kids joined us for the party, I hate to admit that I don't know their names. :/

For lunch we grilled up some hotdogs and of course we made special salad (Adam's special request)

The Cooke Boys ended up showing up later so it was an all day party which Adam loved!

The Birthday Boy!!

When we got tired of swimming, we moved the party back home and the boys rode skateboards and scooters outside until dinner! (where we grilled up more hotdogs and sausages)

Sick Day

Last week we had our first sick day. Although we had fantastic lesson plans planned out and fun games to play for math learning, we woke up with a couple boys with fevers. I had discussed with my Hubby how we would address sick days since normally (last year, when Kevin went to school) we would keep him home and have a movie/relax day. Since we are always home it is easy to say, "well just do this, or that, then we will watch a movie" we decided we would treat it as we did through preschool and kindergarten and call it a sick day. In other words work on recovering fast by resting those little bodies, which is super hard for a bunch of boys. I brought out some activities to help move the hours along without anyone having to exert too much energy and certainly no more throwing up, yuck!

We did a little painting with both paint brushes and sponges

Then we brought out the play dough, I admit we did a little number fun, but there is nothing wrong with playdough with a purpose!

The boys were very proud of their numbers!

Then we rounded out our sick days with some rock band on the Wii!

There you have it! We can have sick days even while homeschooling!
